About Verbu

Almost everyone has heard the message: you are number 17 in the queue. Our research shows that for the vast majority of businesses, 50% of calls are routine questions or routine tasks — both are things Verbu is built to handle expertly, without any human involvement.

How It Started

Verbu started as the culmination of a problem we experienced first-hand, combined with nearly two years of research into voice AI and applied AI.

Daniel was running a storage facility and needed someone to answer calls. Hiring a receptionist? Expensive. Outsourcing to a call centre? Also expensive. Neither made sense for the business.

Around the same time, Deani had a conversation with an elderly family friend. She was spending 30 minutes on hold every two weeks just to book medical transport to her doctor. Half an hour of waiting, or 35 kroner per call. For something that should take two minutes.

There had to be a better way.

After three months of market research, we found plenty of good AI solutions from the likes of ElevenLabs, RetellAI, and Synthflow. But there were a couple of challenges: no consideration for non-technical users. Put another way, the tools work if you're American and technical. Data sovereignty and EU data processing were an afterthought at best, if considered at all. And quality on a good day matched the experience we got when we called larger Danish companies that had tried to build a voice AI solution themselves.

The choice was natural after that — we've since built Denmark's best AI for voice and customer contact.

Verbu was born in autumn 2025.

What We Believe

Customer service shouldn't be a cost centre. It should be the reason customers choose you.

People shouldn't wait in queues or wonder if anyone will answer. They should just get help.

This isn't about replacing people. It's about making great service possible for every business. When support is easy to offer, it stops being a burden and becomes what it should be: the reason customers come back.

Built for Europe

We looked at the market and saw a gap. Every serious player was US-first. Data processed in Virginia. Compliance added as an afterthought.

Verbu is different. All data stays in the EU. We're fully GDPR compliant. We use AI models hosted in Europe. We're building this from Funen, for European businesses, with European values around privacy and data protection baked in from day one.

The Team

We're a bootstrapped company. Two founders building something we needed ourselves, and realising along the way that it could help transform how businesses across Europe serve their customers.

Deani has spent over 15 years at the forefront of product strategy and design. Nearly a decade of that was in Silicon Valley, working in unicorns and leading engineering teams at companies like Slack and Productboard. His career has one consistent thread: helping people and companies succeed while creating meaningful experiences for the people they serve.

He's here to build a better Europe — one where customers get what they need, when they have the time and freedom to ask for it.
